“Hence Lao-tzu's emphasis on softness. Softness means the opposite of rigidity, and is synonymous with suppleness, adaptability, endurance…how powerful this softness is.”

New foundational forms for fall…utilitarian edge in tandem with material softness, a considered collection of opposing natures. A blending of parts is evoked in our emphasis on the dyed; a triple pile fleece produces a subtle two-tonality in over-dyed olive; our worker jacket in over-dyed brown—nuanced and ‘hard-to-pin-down’—features a ‘paper clip’ zip of American archives, rendered in North Carolina milled cotton. A mélange, or mix, knit Alpaca hoodie in indigo blue with specks of vermillion red speaks to a theme of contrasts; while a distinctive grey-to-green cardigan is finished with oversized pearl buttons; transitional in opalescence. Fades in color are found in light and dark wash denim; Japanese selvedge embodies endurance in softness. Both historical nods—militantly true to form Bomber jackets in leather and satin are juxtaposed with downy, Australian Fisherman sweaters. A quartet of Alpaca knit hats in Teal, Rust, Black, and our signature Still pattern; tones echo an autumnal sky-scape from daylight, to sundown, to night. In color and form, the new collection is in praise of dual natures and transitory evocations of the season.
